Thanks for the report! I've been to Reno once and enjoyed it. I stayed at Harrah's but I did visit the Peppermill and thought it was a beautiful casino. We drove over to Tahoe for one day and I would like to stay there some day.

Congratulations on the Royals! It does pay to practice with Bob Dancer.

I want to go to Reno so bad!!! Somebody tell me all about it!!!! I like Vegas, but find it to be a bit much. So I've always thought I might like Reno. Harrah's offers me rooms sometimes, but the airfare there is terrible. I'd have to fly to Vegas and connect, and that seems kind of crazy too. So I'm always looking for new informations about Reno. I'll have to check out this website you're talking about.

Chris... you can still read the Reno board... just can't post. But on the home page John has a contact e-mail to get access to post. I never got the newsletter... I wonder if he's still doing that. There was a lady thay would write a Reno report and send it out by e-mail to subscribers... hmmm... don't remember her name and have not received an e-mail in quite sometime come to think of it... I'd forgot all about her.

Sharon, thanks for the report. I always enjoy reading about Reno. Contrats on the Royals. I think I'll wait until the renovation is done before staying at the Peppermill. I wouldn't be happy with tape on the carpets and all that noise.

I guess I'll need a new login to John's site too. I have visited it in over a year. I used to get his newsletter and really enjoyed it but haven't for awhile.

Well, I did e-mail John... I couldn't get into reno.com with my old pswd... and... it said my e-mail address had been blocked or something.
anyway... he's had some problems with spammers. So he controls all logins manually... and puts the info in himself.
So, I guess I'll be back in soon... I had to send the info I wanted to use by e-mail... didn't care much for having to do that... but completely understand.

I used to visit that site... it's provided by John (the fella with the parrots...lol). BTW... What name do you post under there?

I've never met John... though we emailed some early on. Many years ago.... at least 8 because I was still working at ATT then... Reno didn't really have a board and I asked John if he had some interest in starting one. That was back when I was traveling to that area a good deal but could never get any decent info. I don't know. We didn't venture downtown. I visit a forum www.visitreno.com Look at the message board. There is alot of information about the Reno area, especially the downtown area. Wish I could be of further help.

Was wondering if you happened to go downtown. I've been asking about the RR tracks running under the roads... how they look and the DT area in general... has it recovered some? Is all the construction clear in downtown now? I know that's a while back... but that's when I stopped going... because of the mess. Otherwise... I really liked going over there. I always enjoyed the HAN with all the old cars.

Wow, what a trip!! Thanks for putting all the info in your report and splitting it into little paragraphs was a lot easier for these old eyes to read. Note to self: Yes, you need stronger glasses.

I think I would have been really upset with the room, but the way you described it sounds like there really weren't any other options other than a long walk.

Congratulations on the big wins at VP.

Left RDU heading to Dallas. Settled in our seats in Dallas and Gary notices an American Airlines mechanic in the cockpit with the panels open. Pilot announces they have to conduct a required procedural engine check. They rev the engines for 30 seconds. Pilot announces with a sigh they have to do further checks. They perform another...
