NC tribe votes to allow casino alcohol sales Posted: Today at 7:09 a.m. CHEROKEE, N.C. - Alcohol sales at a North Carolina mountain casino have been approved by members of the Cherokee Indian tribe. The Asheville Citizen-Times reported Friday that the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians approved alcohol sales 1,847 to 1,301 after nearly half the tribe's registered voters went to polls. Supporters of alcohol sales said it would boost profits at the tribe's casino. The tribe uses half the profits from the 11-year-old casino to run its government and half for twice-a-year payments to tribal members. It was the second alcohol sales vote, but the first since the casino was constructed. Tribal members voted 2-1 against alcohol sales in 1980. --- Information from: The Asheville Citizen-Times

I won't have to take my bottle of wine and drink before I go down to the casino anymore. Or dump out part of my bottle of 7-up and then poor Seagrams 7 into it, and carry my mixed drink around with me! This is great news! Boy, we sound like a bunch of lushes don't we????

We had just about decided that we were going to quit going after the blood bath we had on Wednesday night. This was even after having a suite on the 16th floor and a $100 meal credit at Sycamore on the Creek. Shows you how tight the machines are when good food and beautiful surroundings don't blur the pain at all! Maybe now we can just drown our sorrows too!!!

I wonder if they will be free to those who are gambling like in most casinos which serve alcohol? It would have been nice to have had a bottle of wine with that wonderful meal we had at Sycamore on the Creek at our last visit!!!

It would be nice if it was reasonable but I doubt if that happens either. The last two or three times I went to see the Braves or Falcons play I just didn't drink. If more people did that the prices would come down but that's not going to happen either.

They are unsure if drinks will be served on the casino floor or just in restaurants at this point and are unsure what the charge will be and if there will be discounts for card holders, etc. Should make the NYE party more interesting for sure! Instead of people showing up drunk they can just get drunk there, LOL.
