There's not much to report on our trip to Windsor. I took my
Wisconsin friend and thoroughly corrupted her.
And she loved it. We started our about 10, traffic was heavy but it took about 15 minutes to cross the border. All the Canadian weekend vacationers were going back home.
We checked in and as usual, had no problem. Got our riverside room so
my friend could watch the boats, if she lost all her money too early.
The casino was a ghost town. Because of the passport law, there were
few Americans there.
I was disappointed that the area of games that I usually win was down for repair of whatever. They must have had 200+ machines roped off and they all seemed to be "my" machines.
So I amused myself with machines I
usually don't play.
We had the buffet and my friend loved it. But they have cut the choices down some because of business being down. It's still great tho.
We played 9 hours each. My friend lost $60 and I lost $200. So I'm no longer in the plus for my yearly gambling total.
This morning the casino was giving away lottery tickets. Diamond gamblers got 5 tickets and I won $5+$2. That was better than nothing.
We headed back home about 9 and the border was clear, so we sailed right thru. All in all, it was a great time and my friend is looking forward to a return visit.

I wonder if Windsor's business will pick up or if the passport
thing will keep people away permanently. Hope you are having a nice time during your friend's visit. Does she live anywhere near the Wisconsin casinos?
When is your next trip back to Windsor? Hopefully they weren't taking your machines out and they were just moving them.

She may make
a return visit sooner than you think!
but I don't think the
passports will kill the close relationship both countries have. Maybe one day we'll be like Europe and have customs only for people entering from
offshore.
