I just read that the new Sands is opening in May, but the article didn't give a specific date. It's opening in an old steel factory--right? Is it
already open now? Has anyone gone?

Yes Diz the new Sands in the old steel factory is set to have a soft opening this month on the 22 nd I believe.
As far as I know the casino will just open and as each new section is open such as the hotel etc. it will then open. It is going to be a huge complex when finished and I am enclosing the link for you to take a look at it. http://www.sandsbethworks.com/design.html We hope to take a ride down to see after it opens but not for a bit since it will be so darn crowded and I really hate big crowds so would rather wait. My daughters boyfriend thought he might be able to obtain tickets for the pre opening party but did not luck out with those so will wait for the crowds to die down some and then go. I will post a report when ever we do get there tho'

Our local paper just ran a big article on the Sands Opening. Kentucky's legislature may be going back into a special session this summer, and the main
topic should be racinos. The state is low on money and the horse racing industry is drying up here because of racinos (and bigger purses) in Indiana, WVA and
elsewhere.
