Hey all,
I wasn't even going to bother writing a trip report because it is the same boring , losing stuff but since there were a few changes at the casino, I
thought I would go ahead and do it.
I had another comp room offers at Four Winds so after all the headaches I've had around here lately, I decided I needed a break and went on Tuesday. I got
there a little after 3pm and checked in . Woohoo!!!! They gave me a jr suite. I was thinking I would never get one again since the last few times I stayed
there I got the regular rooms but they are very nice, too. I was on the 6th floor facing the front this time and it was really nice. After about a half an
hour, I went down to the casino to see what damage I could do!
The first thing I noticed is that they took out the little place right as you go into the casino that sold coffee, juice, muffins , etc. I know the one time I
was there, it was closed and I thought that was strange. Anyway, now they turned it into the non smoking slot room. I walked around in there and noticed
they still had the same boring slots that they had in the old non smoking area. Why can't casinos put good machines in the non smoking areas? I then
realized that I forgot to bring my slot card (duh!) so I went to the W Club booth to get another one.
I walked around to see if there was anything else new. It looked like they moved some more stuff around but the majority of the stuff was the same as last
month. I tried the new I Dream Of Jeanie and that quickly took my $20. No one else was winning on them either....disappointing since I really liked the old
ones that they had a few years back. I played the newer Wizard of Oz and surpisingly, I was winning a little. Lost eventually though. The lady next to me
got the bonus free spins and ended up with about $420 for the bonus. I looked at her and said "wow..that's great!" and she just looked at me
weird with no expression on her face and then went back to playing. Guess she didn't believe in being friendly....that's ok..most everyone else was
while I was there. I continued playing and losing for a few hours before deciding to get dinner and take it back to the room. Oh yeah, they took out all
the Star Wars machines but left the dumb Ebay machines. At least I won a little before on the Star Wars but couldn't win a thing on Ebay.
Got my usual BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger and Loaded Cheesy Fries at the Timber's Grill and went upstairs to watch some tv while I ate. Food was good but
unfortunately it didn't agree with me and I felt sick the rest of the night
(and yesterday morning). I went back down to the casino around 9 pm and played for about 2 hours but eventually decided to go back upstairs since I
was now getting a bad headace on top of my stomach ache. There was a great big jacuzzi tub up there with my name written on it and I couldn't wait to get
in it!!! I wasn't really winning on anything anyway so I was ready to quit for the night......I cashed a pile of small tickets before I went up and they
totaled about $200 but I was nowhere near ahead.
Had insomnia when I went to bed about midnight so I didn't get but a few hours of sleep and that was not restful sleep. I hadn't been sleeping well for
well over a week and normally I sleep well at Four Winds but not Tuesday. I woke up yesterday at 6am and went down to the casino around 7:30am. There were
very few people down there so I had my pick of any machines. I played the old Wizard of Oz for awhile but didn't get anything and then went back to the
new ones. I put in $20 and one the first spin I got the bonus and won $45! I played a few more spins and called myself lucky and cashed out. I played one
called Vibrant 7's that I played the night before and did ok on but nothing this time. I tried Monopoly ...nothing.....Quick Hits....nothing....Count
Money...nothing. I finally decided to get breakfast at the Willowbrook Cafe. I planned on eating there but started feeling really sick to my stomach again
(plus I think I was having hot flashes
) so I got a carry out and went
back to the room again. I got the Cinnamon Bun French Toast and a side of bacon. The french toast was different....they have a signature giant cinnamon bun
that they serve there and for the french toast they slice two big fat slices of it and use that for the french toast bread. They were saucer size slices and
very good but I only ate one piece of it. When I ordered my food, the hostest asked if I wanted my bacon soft, medium , crispy or almost burned and I said
crispy. Too bad the cook didn't read what she wrote.....it was medium, floppy and extremely greasy. I ate it anyway...I figured a little more grease
can't make my stomach worse than it is already!
I never did go back
down to the casino. I just relaxed on the sofa and watch tv and at 10:30 checked out. Those suites there have the nicest sectional sofas! VERY comfy!
I had planned on going to Blue Chip on the way home but after I started feeling so bad decided I just wanted to go home and crawl in bed but once I checked
out and was leaving Four Winds, I decided to go there since it's less than a 15 minutes drive and I hadn't been there in so long. I knew if I
didn't go , I would want to as soon as I got home. Since they opened the second hotel (22 stories) in January, they remodeled the front entrance as well
as made some changes in the lobby. They took out the little counter that had pastries and beverages and added a walkway across the top of the lobby. I'm
assuming it goes to the hotels. They also have another restaurant somewhere....must be at the new hotel. Stopped at the slot club booth for a new card. I
didn't have that card either but figured it had changed anyway and I was right but at least I was still in the system.
Went in the casino and walked around first to see what was new since I was there last ( over a year). They finally added a self serve beverage counter. I did
play some games there that I never played before. Maybe they aren't new for anyone else but I played a 2 cent Fire Island. That was fun and I played for a
long time and evenutally just cashed out with what I put in. I played The Sopranos and wasn't impressed. I was playing Marilyn Monroe and Elizabeth Taylor
but didn't win. I played Monkeys In The Middle and that was fun. I was doing really well on that and was up about $60 at one point. I know it's only
pennies but I was getting combinations for 1600 and 1800 pennies. I eventually cashed out just a little ahead but played that for a long time. I got a $45
bonus on Miss Kitty. That was the machine that I did well on at Indiana Live.
Even though I came out a big loser at Blue Chip , too I had a lot more play time for my money than I did at Four Winds. The first hour I played off the same
money but after that things kinda went down hill but I still got to play a long time on most of the machines. The bad thing is that the same slots I played at
Four Winds that were penny slots were 2 or 5 cents at Blue Chip. They were not crowded at all. I still think Four Winds has really hurt their business.
Oh, yeah....I was going to try some Video Poker even though I knew it would bore me but I wanted to play anyway but I didn't know which machine to play and
when I was walking around looking at them the other people playing all looked extremely serious (or bored
) so I just moved on and went back to the slots. Maybe another time.
I didn't see any Jaws slots at either casino. Maybe they'll have them at the new Firekeepers casino in Michigan when it opens and I can try them.
So after a little over 3 hours at Blue Chip, I headed home , purse a LOT lighter but not completely empty only because I took more money than I should have. If
I took a normal amount of money, I probably wouldn't have been able to stop at Blue Chip even.
So that's about it.....I'm going to try to stay away from Four Winds
for awhile and not go to any casinos until the new one opens which should be within a few weeks. I have two gift offers for Four Winds which I really would
like to have but I don't have the will power to just go and get the gift and leave so guess I won't get them.
Thanks for reading and take care!
